What a busy month!

Wow! Time flies. We are still recovering from the end of March. First we went to Washington for my sister's wedding. Kaden was wonderful on the plane- as long as the vehicle we are in is moving faster than 60 miles an hour he is happy to sleep. He'll be a speed demon when he's older. The hardest part about travelling is the security checkpoints. You have to take the whole stroller apart and carry your baby through the detector. It's kind of a pain. Right before we got on the first plane he was crying pretty noisily- it was 6 am and you could see the pain in the faces of the other passengers as they dreaded getting on the plane with him. But I fed him first thing and he slept the rest of the trip. Several people commented on how wonderful he was on the plane. The stay in Washington was fun. If I didn't have to feed kaden I don't know that I would have seen very much of him. All the relatives and friends were clamoring for their turn with him. He was great for all of them. He mostly slept through them passing him around and he didn't fuss at night at all. It seems like the trip got him on a better schedule. He hardly ever fusses at night anymore. He still wakes up and eats but he usually goes right back to sleep after. We got some cute pics of him in a suit for the wedding (see above).

He was blessed at church the next day too. It was neat to have his great-grandpa there to be in the circle with him. Matt did an excellent job with the blessing. He blessed him with all the tools he will need to grow up to be a good man. He blessed him to know who he is and of his importance to Heavenly Father. He blessed him that he would understand his importance to his family and how much we love him. And that he will know that he can rely on us. He blessed him with health and strength and all kinds of other good stuff. :) My dad recorded it on his pocket PC and a member of the ward and Matt's mom took notes. I'm glad we will have that to read to him/play for him when he's older.

After we got home we moved! We are in a much bigger and nicer apartment now! It has two bedrooms and two baths and wonder of wonders a full size washer and dryer! Matt has taken over the second bedroom for his office currently but he plans on sharing with Kaden once we move him in there and out of our bedroom. Right now it is nice because we are all essentially sleeping on the floor. Kaden still likes to eat every three hours so it makes it really easy to get him. I think he likes being able to see us in bed too. We have him in a little travel bed- it's basically a baby size tent with an airmattress inside. It's great. He was fascinated by it when we first put him in it. It's great because it folds up into a small bag. It'll be great for our next trip - Michigan in May. :)

So anyway... life has pretty much just been unpacking and taking care of Kaden. I've started taking him on walks in the park across the street from us. It's a wonderful large park with a trail around it's perimeter. We are looking forward to taking Kaden swimming too. I hope to take a mom and baby excercise class in September in the pool. Hopefully I will be able to fit into more of my pre-preggy clothes then. :) Kaden is growing so fast! His newest thing is trying to find his thumb to suck on. It's pretty funny to watch. We are encouraging the pacifier but the thumb does have it's benefits... He loves to talk to us too. Matt's teaching him how to stick out his tongue. Fun times! Now that we are getting more settled in I will hopefully keep this more updated than once a month blogging... We'll see....
